What to Bring to Burnie Glacier Chalet

  1. Rental skis, skins, ski crampons, beacons, probes and shovels are available, but we recommend you bring your own. Your luggage will be weighed and cannot be heavier than 15 kg (33 lb.) excluding skis, snowshoes, or snowboards. Bring ski clothing and a set of comfortable clothes to change into.
  2. Large day backpack and duffel
  3. ski underwear
  4. 2 pairs of socks
  5. 2 light fleece sweaters
  6. 1 pile or fleece jacket
  7. 1 shell jacket with hood (water resistant and breathable, hard or soft shell)
  8. ski pants and gaiters if necessary
  9. light down jacket (optional but really nice)
  10. personal first aid kit and medications
  11. glacier sunglasses
  12. ski goggles
  13. warm hat or toque
  14. sun hat, sun protection for skin and lips
  15. good ski gloves
  16. thermos bottle
  17. map and compass (optional, 1: 50,000 93 L/5 Burnie Lake)
  18. camera and film
  19. toothbrush, 2 towels, sponge, soap etc.
  20. slippers or camp booties
  21. headlamp or flashlight
  22. casual clothes for wearing at the chalet
  23. skis, skins, ski crampons, ski strap (available)
  24. harness, prusik slings, 1 locking carabiner (available), 3 normal carabiners
  25. beacon, probe, shovel (available)
  26. ski mountaineering boots
